The Gospel Express in Vink - Part 1

Sunday morning the 01.11.2009 I visited the Gospel Express in Vink. The train stands on a side track which hasn't a connection with the line Worcester - Robertson anymore. You can see the tarin standing there if you drive from Worcester to Robertson on the R60.
The coaches are more or less in good condition. I took photos of some of them and will post them from time to time.

The first picture shows the coaches with a big sign which you can see from far away if you come the way from Robertson.
And the second picture shows the coaches 14517 (not sure if it is really the number) because there was too much waste in front of the coach so I didn't take a picture of the first on the left. The next one is number 14278 and this coach is the entrance to the chapel coach which stands on the other track beneath that coach.

I think you'll find the van is 4517, a K-43.

The one coach appears to have developed a rather sharp list to starboard. Is the ballast giving way?
The sidings must have been connected prior to the arrival of the 15CA.
Is this an actual station or just a siding?

The school that's in the train used to/still have a cycle race every year. My dad used to take part in this race circa 2000. I still remember walking around in the loops and throwing the points (of course I didn't have a clue then what it was). There was also a socket where a veldt telephone could presumably be plugged in. I always forgot my pair of ancient earphones that had the same type of sockets. I always wondered what I would do if someone on the otherside would answer if I pressed the button, but I don't think it worked anyways. There was also some push trolleys that lay around in the veld. I tried to get it on the rails...

When we rode past there on Monday I saw that all loops have been removed and that the locomotive has been painted blue. I didn't see any connecting rods on the loco, maybe the kids needs to restore it as part of their program? I don't know...
