Steam in Action - discussion

Post by John Ashworth »

New thread created for comment and discussion on Steam in Action after receiving the following message on 01/11/07:

Hi John!

The FotR Forum does not allow replies to the "Steam in Action Manifesto" string, , so I would like to request you to place this message, and if possible to pick up communication with the relevant Organizations and people!

I strongly feel that point 3, which read as follows;

TO PUT AN END TO UNNECESSARY SCRAPPING OF LOCOMOTIVES

To formalise the fate of numerous rare locomotives including Steam, Electric and Diesel which are currently disenfranchised and lack documentation which would clarify their legal status.

To be amended to the suggested following, subject to approval from all;

TO PUT AN END TO UNNECESSARY SCRAPPING OF RAIL HERITAGE ACCESSES OF SOUTH AFRICA

To formalise the fate of numerous rare locomotives (including Steam, Electric and Diesel), assortment of useful vehicles (including assortment of passenger rolling stock, and an assortment of useful goods and other rail-base vehicles (e.g.: Steam cranes, ect.) and key items of rail infrastructure (inclusive of useable or restorable locomotive sheds, triangles, balloons, ash pits, water tower/s & water columns and key items of machinery used for the required repairs and maintenance of the above mention equipment), which are currently disenfranchised and lack documentation which would clarify their legal status.
